RICHMOND, Ind. – Justin A. Lakes, age 62, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, August 27, 2023, at home.
Born October 29, 1960, in Richmond, Indiana, to Marlon "Dick" and Joyce P. Renfro Lakes, Justin was a life-long resident of Wayne County. He was in the class of 1979 at Lincoln High School. Justin worked at Spartech Plastics in Quality Control, Envirotech, and Richmond Baking Company. He enjoyed music, cooking, his favorite TV shows, and he had a "green thumb". Justin loved his children and grandchildren and spending time with family was very important to him.
Survivors include his daughter, Tiffany (Burnie) Sanches; son, Tyler (Ashley) Lakes; grandchildren, Braedon, Cameron, Kaedynce, Alten, Jordan, and Bowen "Bobo"; sisters, Lois Gabbard, Dorothy Stamper, and Linda (Lloyd) Lady; his canine companion, Spike; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Starla Lakes; brothers, Homer Riley Jr, and Eddie Lakes; and brothers-in-law Howard Gabbard and Gene Stamper.
Visitation for Justin A. Lakes will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, at Mills Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, c/o Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
