MONROE TOWNSHIP- JUSTIN LEBOWITZ passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, peacefully at his home. He was 95 years old.
Born in Union City, to Harry and Lillian (née Mankowitz) Lebowitz, he resided in North Bergen before settling down in Monroe Township, 30 years ago.
Justin was a college graduate from Long Island University. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War.
Prior to retiring, he was a Purchasing Agent for The Garment Center in Manhattan, NY where he worked for 40 years.
Justin was the President of Temple Beth El in North Bergen, and was a boy scout leader. In addition, he was the commander of the V.A. in North Bergen.
In his spare time, Justin was a talented handyman, and created many amazing woodwork projects.
Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Ruth Lebowitz of Monroe Township; his son, Dr. Harry Lebowitz and his wife, Dr. Penelope Neckowitz, of Chadds Ford, PA; his daughter, Judith Lebowitz of Princeton; his grandchildren, Aleia and Lillian.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 1:45 pm, at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 83-45 Cypress Hills Street, Glendale, NY, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick. For directions, please see "Events" listed below.
