Justin Robert Marreel, age 43, of Minneapolis, formerly of Osage, Iowa, passed away March 28, 2023.
Justin was born in 1979 in Osage, Iowa, to Bob and Donna Marreel. He attended kindergarten through 6th grade at Sacred Heart School and graduated from Osage High School in 1998. He was always an honor roll student. After receiving The Guy And Maud Alchon Memorial scholarship, he attended DeVry Institute in Kansas City. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in computer information systems and pursued a career as a software engineer.
Justin had a passion for music and taught himself how to play the guitar. He played lead guitar with several bands writing and recording their own songs in the Minneapolis area. He pursued his love of the guitar by buying, repairing, selling, and collecting them. He would always beat his dad at a game of "horse" with his deadly 3-point shooting. He was also a consistent winner of fantasy football. He was kind-hearted, witty, and had a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his niece, Amelia, and nephew, Noah.
He is survived by his father, Bob Marreel; his sister, Alissa Morrison; brother-in-law, Jered Morrison; niece, Amelia; nephew, Noah; along with other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Bublitz Marreel, and grandparents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, Iowa. Visitation will take place from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, Minnesota, 1801 4th St. NW., Austin, MN 55912.
