Justin Lewis Whaley, 33, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023.
Born July 21, 1989 in LaGrange, Justin lived in Troup County most of his life and was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 2008 until 2016 and was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, having served in Iraq, and Operation Enduring Freedom, having served in Afghanistan. He enjoyed playing golf and softball.
Survivors include his wife, Stefanie Whaley; son, Noah Whaley, daughter, Sofie Whaley; mother, April Meabrod; father, Greg Whaley and his wife Lisa Whaley; brother, Jordan Alan Whaley, all of LaGrange; grandparents, Ruby and Randy Burnham of Hogansville, Phyllis Whaley of Charleston, SC; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins including a special aunt, Pam Staat; and his mother in-law and father in-law, Sabrina and Jay Aalto of LaGrange.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 5, at Living Waters Baptist Church in LaGrange. The Reverend Woody Woodard will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday.
