Justin Ryan Wheeler, age 40, of Alpharetta, GA passed away June 29, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Benny Wheeler and his paternal grandparents, Holland and Sara Wheeler, and his maternal grandfather Hoyt Hyde.
Justin was an exceptional athlete throughout his life. He graduated from Creekview High School, where he excelled by setting school records in football and baseball. He played college baseball at Brewton Parker Baptist College for two years. Then continued his baseball career at North Georgia College, where he earned a B.S. in Physical Education.
Justin was a teacher for thirteen years in the Cherokee County School System where he coached football and baseball. He also coached football at Kings Ridge Christian Academy. He loved sports, thrived on competition, and had a huge passion for winning. Justin’s coaches and colleagues were very influential in his life ambitions.
His big personality captivated everyone, especially those who played on his teams. He was a great coach with a true gift of leadership and motivation. He had a charismatic personality, with a fun-loving smile and a laugh that drew people to him. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Justin is survived by his mother, Carol Hyde Wheeler, of Cumming, GA, grandmother, Ozell Hyde Parks (Jim), of Dawsonville, GA, uncle, Keith Hoyt Hyde, of Cumming, GA, aunt, Kendra Gilbert (Scott), of Cumming, GA, cousins, Ava, Emma, and Alora Gilbert, as well as great aunts, uncles, and many friends also survive.
Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday July 05, 2023 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Scott Gilbert and Rev. Gerald Richards officiating, as well as speaker Terry Crowder.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.
