Justo Humberto Vindel was born in the city of La Ceiba, Honduras on June 29, 1959. He was a resident for many years of the subdivision of Harvey, Louisiana. He died on May 22, 2023 in "The Crossing at Clarity Hospice" in the city of Baton Rouge, LA at the age of 63.
He is survived by his wife Maria Vindel with whom he shared 31 years of a beautiful marriage; his son Geovany Zelaya, his wife Claudia and their daughters; Elmis Zelaya, his wife Nakesha and their sons; and his youngest daughter Evelyn Vindel. He also leaves behind his extended family; great- grandchildren, grandchildren, nephews, sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law, very close friends and a large spiritual family in the Horeb Baptist Church in the city of Gretna, La, where he faithfully attended on Sundays.
Justo was a very reserved and quiet man but he loved spending time with his family especially when they met on Sundays after church. He loved sports, especially his football team the Saints of New Orleans, since he really enjoyed watching and commenting on the games. A very hard-working man, he always had projects to repair his house. He was never alone, always surrounded by love from his family. He always tried to find the solution to his family's problems making sure they were well taken care of.
He liked to collect small sports vintage cars and often said that he would have had more, but his nephew Anthony, when he was little, broke the doors of most of them.
For him, his family was one of the most important things and he tried to be present for them in the most important moments of his life. One of his greatest achievements was to accept Christ as his Savior, and since 2022 he began to get more involved in the activities of the church.
He loved going to his Bible study on Thursday nights with his leader, his nephew Fernando Paguada.
There they met to discuss the word of God and he was always very willing to participate and comment. He was just a man who was also very helpful and if he could, he helped a lot to anyone who asked for it. He shared pleasant moments with his brothers of the faith, read the Bible and wished one day to be baptized. This was one of the things he couldn't do, but we know that he loved God with all his heart.
His desire, which he always expressed, was that he would like to see people be more committed to God. When he saw that someone was not committed enough, he said that he was wanted to give yellow card or red card just as it is done in soccer in a game. He had a good sense of humor in his own way.
He never lost faith despite his delicate state of health in which he was and we know that he now rests in the arms of Jesus. We will miss him very much and he leaves a great void, but we are grateful to God for the opportunity he gave us to have him with us. His medical staff was very attentive and was with the family until the last moment. Rest in Peace Justo one day we'll see you again.

A good hearted man. He would build anything plumb and square. Even stairs! He will be missed. God bless his soul.
