Juva Ruth Poindexter, a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife passed away at home on August 26th, 2022 at the age of 61.
Juva is survived by her Brother in law, Brian Poindexter, and nine children: Andi Bishop, Tia Luxford, David Stockton, Tyler Whitehead, Kristi Beaird, Brittany Olive, Ashley Poindexter & Stephanie Thompson. She also has over a dozen grandchildren that she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her mother Edna Harshman, Father Adrian Harshman, and Loving husband Gregory A. Poindexter.
Juva was born in Clinton, Custer County Oklahoma on November 28th, 1960 to Edna Harshman & Adrian Harshman. Juva Married Gregory Poindexter on October 16th, 1999 in Louisa Va. Their union spanned 22 years. She often traveled with Greg, who was a cross-country trucker for most of his life. They loved seeing the sights and enjoyed making memories with their children at the go-kart track. Juva was an advocate for domestic violence survivors and worked diligently for a couple of organizations to provide services for those needing to seek help. Serving those less fortunate was a lifelong passion of Juva s. A passion that lives on in her children s memories. Juva was also an avid reader and worked at the Hollis library before her health started to decline. Juva loved her Children and grandchildren. Nothing could make her more excited than seeing her grandbabies. They were her heart.
The Poindexter family will host a come-and-go visitation from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis, Oklahoma. The family request you bring your favorite Juva story.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
