Steven Karl Poindexter, 68, of Middletown, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025.

Private family services will be held.

Steven was born May 27, 1957, in Mexico. He was the son of Karl G. and Neva Lee (Boicourt) Poindexter. On August 7, 1982, in Wentzville, he married Janet Duenke who survives.

Steven worked as a meat cutter for Shop 'n Save for 16 years. He then worked as a Union Carpenter and eventually went into business for himself. One of his greatest honors was being asked to remodel Bethel Church with the help of his son-in-law, Shaun.

He was a member of the meat cutters union, carpenters union, and the NRA. He was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed hunting (wildlife and Native American Artifacts), going to "meat shoots", and woodworking. He also enjoyed listening to music.

In addition to his wife Janet, survivors include two sons, Chris (Rebecca) Poindexter, of Wentzville, and Jeffrey (Shelby) Poindexter, of Middletown; two daughters, Shelly (Shaun) Marshall, of Middletown, and Melissa Poindexter, of Farber; two brothers, Daniel G. "Dan" Poindexter (Peg), of Wright City, and Roger Lee Poindexter (Cheryl), of Mexico; two sisters, Carol Joyce Wimmer, of Troy, and Patricia Kay "Patsy" Stevenson, of Wellsville; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Betty Jane Poindexter.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Bethel Church. Memorials may be sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 203 E. Bates Street, Wellsville, MO 63384.
