Kadeem "Keyz" Jackson

Kadeem Jamal Jackson "Keyz", age 32, passed away on October 25, 2024, in Scott County, Kentucky. Kadeem was born on October 26, 1991, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and his life was full of vibrant memories, with family being at the heart of it. He graduated from Tates Creek High School in Lexington, KY, in 2011. Known for his infectious humor, a deep sense of compassion, and an outspoken nature, Kadeem often gave his all to those he loved, even when he had little himself.
Kadeem loved writing and performing music, following in the footsteps of his late father. He was a handyman by nature, always willing to help and fix things for those around him. In his spare time, he enjoyed sharing deep conversations about the mysteries of life and finding ways to uplift those in his circle. A ladies' man and a homebody, he cherished the company of friends and family, often staying close to those who meant the most to him.
Kadeem is survived by his cherished children, Kassius Clay and Malaki Follmer; his loving mother, Laponda Jackson; his grandmother, Darenda Jackson (Stewart); his grandfather, Donald R. Stewart; his uncles, Michael Mayo and Raynelle Brown; his siblings, Kadeja Jackson, Kiara Jackson (Kidd), Elijah Sunderman, Kameron Jackson, Kimani Jackson, Kionna Jackson, Kaden Jackson-Watkins, and Kayla Jackson-Watkins; and his niece, Malaysia Berry. He also leaves behind a host of great aunts, great uncles, and close friends, including Joseph Davis, Christopher Piper, Shaquille Williams, Christian Johnson, JhaQwan Turner and many others.
Kadeem was preceded in death by his father, John D. Wilcox Jr.; his grandmother, Beressa Mayo; his grandfather, Raymond Duffy; and his uncle, James Mayo. He is now reunited with them in peace.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, 312 Washington Street, Frankfort, KY 40601, followed by a service at 11 a.m. led by his brother-in-law, Devon Kidd. Though Devon is not a minister, his words will honor Kadeem's life with the love and depth only family can share.
