Kalathil M. Cyriac, also known as "Baby" to his loved ones, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
Mr. Cyriac was born on February 16, 1945 in Kuruppanthara, Kerala, India as the eldest of 4 children to the late Kalathil Mathai (Thottathil) and Mariamma Mathai Kalathil. Having completed his Bachelor's degree in Kerala, Mr. Cyriac moved to Bombay, India in 1969 and worked as an auditor with the Accountant General's Office until he migrated to the United States in December 1974, after marrying his wife, Aleyamma, the January prior. They started their American life together in the Bronx, NY and eventually settled in Pelham, NY with their two children, Christine and Steven, in 1982.
Mr. Cyriac spent most of his career in the United States as an office manager at Konigsberg, Wolf & Co PC, an accounting firm in New York City, until he retired in 2008. He was also a well-respected member of the Indian Knanaya Catholic Community of Greater New York, and he always prioritized his family, immediate and extended, over everything else. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening with his wife and watching movies or a mystery series with his kids, regardless of whether they were in English, Malayalam, Hindi, or Tamil.
Mr. Cyriac leaves behind his dear wife of 50 years, Aleyamma, his beloved children, Christine and Steven, his son-in-law, Blesson, his grandchildren, Emily and Oliver, as well as his siblings, Jolly and Thomas Kalliduckil, Jacob and Sheeba Kalathil, and Lisamma and Vincent Punnacheril. Not only was Mr. Cyriac a devoted husband, amazing father, and loving grandfather, but he was also a kind-hearted, humble, and gentle soul to all those who knew him. He will truly be missed by all of us.
