Kaleb Rethwisch Obituary
Kaleb Ryan Rethwisch was born on July 7, 1997, in Portland, Oregon to Stephanie Lynn Rethwisch and Jason Lester. He left us too soon on March 25, 2025. Kaleb loved life and was a happy, funny, kind, sweet, giving, considerate and compassionate child who became an exceptional young man. He loved being helpful. His love of cars and trains began as a baby. He was a great at drawing cars, building with his legos and running model trains with his granddaddy.
Kaleb overcame life's challenges and graduated from Clackamas High School. He played trumpet and trombone in band class and marched in the Starlight Parade his senior year. After high school, he took mechanical classes and learned how to work on vehicles. Kaleb really enjoyed that. Kaleb had two scooters he loved tinkering with. He later upgraded to an E-Scooter.
Kaleb bought his first car, a 1996 Toyota Celica and was so proud of it. He loved upgrading his car, especially the stereo system. He was very proud that he added new car seats, a seal, and even taillights. With the help of PREracing, he had a new spoiler and rebuild engine installed.
Kaleb enjoyed working at Target with his coworkers and tackled multiple duties.
He was the apple of everybody's eye. He loved his family deeply as we loved him. Until we meet again in heaven, we will forever miss you Kaleb.
Kaleb is preceded in death by his great-great-grandmother, Vada Preston; great-grandmothers Grandy Doris Maxwell and Helen Rethwisch; cousins Anthony and Aundrea Wilson, Alexis Graham McAllister; great-great-grandfather Windsor Owen Lester; and great-aunts Paula Lee Lester, Jeannine Preston and Bunnie Beavis.
Kaleb is survived by his parents, Stephanie Rethwisch and Jason Lester; sister Chloe Rethwisch; grandparents Dave and Sheryl Rethwisch, G-Pa, Ralph Lester, (grandma Linda Smith, GranMoo Katrina Mills and step-grandma Angelita); great-grandmother GG Estelle Nickila; uncles David Rethwisch, Collin Lester (LeAnne), Cody (Kayla), Tim Smith (Danielle), Aunt Tanaela (Jamere), great-aunts Deborah Boyd, Donna Manthey, and Doris (Joe) Muta; many cousins and Kaleb's best friend/cousin Brenden Lester who was like a brother to him.
