Dale Larsen

Dale Larsen of Portland, Oregon took his final solitary flight on November 9th at the age of 70.
An amazingly intelligent, meticulous and equally sarcastic man, frontotemporal degeneration callously thieved Dale's brain the last four years of his life. We now honor Dale for the gifts he brought to the world.
Born and raised in Utah, Dale lived a full life. He loved biking, hiking Utah, computers, exploring cultures, and was a news junkie. While the railroad industry brought him a rich career (particularly BNSF), airplanes were his passion -- including crafting his own small plane, a beloved VANS RV9A.
Dale is lovingly remembered by his wife Tricia Sullivan; his sisters Karen Atwood, Brenda Tilby and Regina Fee, his children Russell and April; Tricia's children Erin Lombardi (Mike) and Rick (Katrina) and three grandkids who loved Papa Bud.
At Dale's specific request, there will be no funeral, but instead a party. His words say it best: "The thought of some second rate talent performing 'He walks with me', a clergy person I never knew spewing inappropriate quotes from the scriptures, and women crying is unsettling to me. I believe that the three phases of life -- birth, living, and death -- should all be celebrated in the same manner. They are each an important part of the overall plan. Without death, life just wouldn't be that special."
