Kalindi (Shah) Dharamsey of Kingwood, Texas, passed away peacefully, on November 9, 2024, at the age of 69, surrounded by family and friends in her home during her final weeks.
Affectionately called "Kali" by many, Kalindi will be deeply missed by her daughter and son and their spouses, two grandchildren, her loving brother and two sisters, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was also dearly loved by her family and friends who predeceased her, including her parents, brother, and sister-in-law. Born in Mumbai, India, as the youngest sibling, Kalindi grew up surrounded by her extended family and developed close relationships with her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She later moved to the United States, living in the Northeast and Texas, always near her loved ones.
Kalindi was a fiercely independent woman whose strong will, determination, and faith in God guided her through life with grace and perseverance. Passionate about her beliefs and committed to every endeavor she undertook, she inspired those around her to pursue their dreams with the same relentless drive she embodied every day.
Her thirst for knowledge knew no bounds; she believed that each day was an opportunity to learn something new and encouraged others to do the same. Her dedication to learning was reflected in her pursuit of degrees and certifications in mathematics, physics, computer engineering, finance, and accounting. Even in her late 60s, she eagerly embraced opportunities in data science and analytics, determined to stay on top of the latest trends. Kalindi's eagerness to learn also translated into her exceptional work ethic across her various jobs and careers in multiple industries.
Kalindi had a passion for listening to music and watching her beloved India national cricket team, dramatic Indian soap operas, game shows like Deal or No Deal and The Price is Right, and educational videos on YouTube. A true foodie and skilled cook, she loved good food while knowing exactly which flavors she liked. And of course, she never missed her morning cup (or two) of hot masala chai.
The funeral and cremation will be a private ceremony, remembering Kalindi in the presence of close family. In Kalindi's memory, please consider donating to The Malala Fund, dedicated to promoting education for girls around the world, at www.malala.org/donate or to the Desai Foundation, dedicated to empowering women and children in India through health and livelihood initiatives, at www.thedesaifoundation.org/take-action/donate.
