Kandi Kay Preuss, age 56 passed away suddenly on May 20, 2023. She was born on February 28, 1967, in Delta, CO. She was the daughter of loving parents, Phillip, and Mary Alice Myers. Who, lives in Whitewater, CO.
Kandi was an exceptional student; she graduated from Central High School and achieved many awards. She attended some college at then Mesa State College now known as Mesa State University located in Grand Junction CO.
Kandi spent many years as a volunteer for Mesa County School District. Making Mesa View Elementary School her second home. She absolutely loved working with the children who attended there. Often volunteering for after-school activities. She viewed the staff as an extension of her family.
She enjoyed many hobbies in her lifetime. These included Softball growing up and well into her adult years, whether playing or coaching. She loved winter so much as it brought one of her favorite hobbies, Snowmobiling. She enjoyed boating in the summer and riding offroad in the Razors; the muddier the better. She played golf when she could. But what she loved the most was traveling with her husband Mark, she wanted to see every state, even if that meant camping in bear country.
Kandi was very opinionated and outgoing. She was quick to offer help when she could. She loved supporting small businesses.
Kandi is survived by her adoring husband Mark Preuss. Loving Children David (Whitney) Preuss, Kendra Hays, Steven (Kristin) Preuss, Koby (Shaylee) Hays. Ashley Preuss. A sister Kristi (Bill) Morrison Niece Jessica Morrison (Kyle) Sheppard Stegman. Her sweet grandchildren Keaghan Hays, Tatem Preuss, and Harper Hays.
Memorial services will be held at Orchard Mesa Baptist Church 2748 ½ Rd #B, Grand Junction, CO 81503. On May 31, 2023, at 2 pm reception to follow in Fellowship Hall. There will also be a live stream on the church’s Facebook page. The family asks those who attend to wear Kandi’s favorite color Purple. Think Jimmy Buffett!
