Kaprice Roelle Thomas

Kaprice Roelle Thomas was born May 27, 1971 to Roosevelt Brown and Zerlene A. Schoolfield. The "first" child.
Kaprice graduated from high school and went on to earn first, her Bachelor of Arts and then Master of Art in Psychology from Boston University, May of 1993 and May of 1994 respectfully. Always determine to achieve her goals, Kaprice obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Golden Gate University School of Law on May 2001 and Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from Pacific Graduate School of Psychology on 2003.
On May 5, 2004 Kaprice married her husband of 19 years, Elgin D. Thomas. To this blessed union, three children were born; Cadence, Xavier, and Catia Thomas.
Kaprice was respectful, thoughtful, loving and creative. She had the unique manner of making each person she met feel how important they were to her. The most unique aspect of Kaprice's being was her love of people and the empathy she mustered as she attempted to solve any problem she encountered in the most humane and loving manner.
Thus, she connected with sister-friends around the globe. She mentored and taught, built and cemented strong family bonds as she ventured to always reach out and help any and every person she encountered. She once said "being a mother was the hardest job I've ever done". That statement is remarkable and modest coming from someone whose vitae was quite impressive.
Kaprice was a natural nester as she constantly moved around her community always involved in a project – whether it was building a cozy window seat, helping a neighbor with a DIY project, or selling Girl Scout cookies.
On March 5, 2024, Kaprice Roelle Thomas was called home for her eternal rest. To cherish her many memories she leaves to mourn her husband: Elgin D. Thomas, two daughters: Cadence Amel Thomas and Catia Skye Thomas, one son: Xavier Silvano Thomas, father: Roosevelt Brown; mother: Zerelene A. Schoolfield; step father: Jim Schoolfield; brother: Ken Allen Brown; mother –in-law: Mary B. Thomas, two brother –in-laws: Freddie D. Thomas and Torrizos D. Thomas and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, colleagues, and students.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 14th 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Pastor Charles Maxwell officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home before the service.
