We are deeply saddened to share that Dr. Karam Makhni, a cherished individual, passed away on July 19th, 2023 in Scottsdale, AZ. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that touched the lives of many.
Karam was not only a devoted husband to Katrina Makhni, but also a loving father to his two wonderful children, Amara and Sienna. His place of birth was Harrogate, England, on January 18th, 1979, to his caring parents, Dr. Harvinder Singh and Gurmeet Kaur. His journey led him to pursue a career in medicine, and he completed his residency at Emory University in Atlanta in 2012. As a primary care physician at HonorHealth for the past 6 years, he was deeply adored by his many patients for the exceptional care he provided.
Beyond his profession, Karam enjoyed various passions in life, including biking, tennis, football (soccer), and travel. However, his most treasured moments were spent with family and friends, where his kindness and caring nature shone through.
Karam Makhni touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, compassion, and dedication as a husband, father, friend, and physician will forever be remembered.
In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his brothers, Ranjeet (Therese) Makhni, and Harjas Makhni, as well as his nephew, Milo, and niece, Leah, whom he adored. Karam also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who will cherish the memories they shared.
A private celebration of life will be held on July 29th at Phoenix Country Club to honor his remarkable life.
To pay tribute to his memory, flowers can be sent to Phoenix Country Club, or memorial donations can be made to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society at www.lls.org. Your contributions will continue the spirit of giving that Karam exemplified throughout his life.

I checked again today, as I have done countless times since that dreadful day last summer. I have not given up hope that maybe 'tis all a horribly bad dream, an unsavory parallel universe, a Mandela Effect even. My Kids have told me that they could pick and change story endings and all else when they played "Overwatch" or "The Game of Life". Why is it not possible that a Superior Entity is playing just that with us as pawns on NPCs and that at the flip of a switch or a favorable roll of dice THIS horrible ending will be changed too, at an instant...For Katrina, Amara, Sienna's sake, and selfishly, me. I shall keep checking hoping this Aberrant Time Distortion finally corrects itself. Until that transpires, I shall continue to tear up when Stoke & The Potters play, or when I come across Leeds Uni...

Our sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to Dr. Mahkni's family during this very difficult time. Dr. Mahkni was my primary care physician for 4 years, and I trusted him implicitly with my care. It was always a pleasure going for office visits with him, he had a keen understanding, a good sense of humor, and was a true professional. We will immensely miss him .

My sincere condolences at the passing of Dr Makhni. I moved to Phoenix 5 years ago and felt blessed to have met Karam and had him as my Primary Care Physician. He was someone I felt was so caring and concerned for his patients. He took the time to genuinely listen to his patients and I have had him in my thoughts and prayers since I first heard about his condition. He will be greatly missed by his patients and family. Again my sincere condolences.
