KAREN JEAN (BRUCE) BARNETT

Karen Jean (Bruce) Barnett, at the age of 70, passed away on November 17, 2025, at Research Medical Center. After battling many years of various health issues and extreme pain. She is now at peace, without pain, and at rest with Our Heavenly Father.

Karen Jean was born April 22, 1955, in Sioux City, Iowa to Jean Annette (Frans) Bruce and William "Wild Bill" Raymond Bruce. Karen Jean was the third youngest of four siblings. Two older brothers; Kenny, Keith, and a younger sister Kathy.

In her younger years, she and her family traveled/lived all over the world, since their father was in the US Air Force. Living from duty station to duty station.

In her adult years, she had four children as well, three sons and a daughter. The oldest son is Jay, then daughter Tiffany, and two younger sons: Zackary and Justin.

Where most would call their "hometown," Karen had a tough time trying to set roots anywhere, to call any place, her "hometown," but she finally did, in Sedalia, MO and lived there the last 25 years of her life.

Karen Jean enjoyed the outdoors; she loved fishing, camping, canoeing, campfires, riding on the back of motorcycles. Until she couldn't anymore and started to become stricken by different illnesses.

Karen Jean proceeds in death with her parents; Jean and William "Wild Bill" Bruce, her oldest brother Kenny, her niece Amy, and her second husband, Dennie Lee Barnett.

Karen Jean is survived by her 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and a beautiful great granddaughter, as well as her older brother Keith, younger sister Kathy, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends, and other loved ones.

Karen Jean's final wishes were to be cremated.

Memorial services will be at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. The date at time will be later set. This service is for anyone who would like to attend; friends, family, and other loved ones, it will be open to the public.
