BETTY JO LEACH

Betty Jo Leach, age 97, of Peculiar, Missouri passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the Kansas City Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc., 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083. Visitation from 1-2 p.m. followed by the services at 2:00 p.m.

Betty was born in Springtown, Arkansas on July 18, 1928, the daughter of Radger McCoy Sitton and Laura Brannon. Shortly after high school, Betty met and married Willie Richard Leach. Together they were blessed with three children, Jimmie, Mary and Carolyn. In life, Betty and her husband Willie owned and operated Leach's Feed and Grocery Café as well as C&R Furniture & Auction for many years. Betty loved to play cards with family and friends, she also loved to sew, quilt and crochet many projects. A highlight of her later years was her frequent trips to the casinos, where she enjoyed testing her luck.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Richard Leach; daughter, Carolyn Lemken and husband Richard; granddaughter, Janice Cooper; great-grandson, Jeremy Cooper; four brothers, Wayne, Bob, Kenneth, and Don Sitton; daughter in-law, Rosalie Leach; and son in-law, Gene Bryant.

She is survived by her son, Jimmie Leach; daughter, Mary Bryant; stepdaughter, Ginger Nash; six grandchildren, Kerri Schufeldt (Dan), Kelli Johnson (Lee), Kasondra Leach, Cindy York (Gene), Billy Bryant (Pamala), Julie Carpenter; ten great-grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145.
