Karen Bridges of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on November 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 16, 1950, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Karen lived a life defined by an unwavering love for her family.
Karen was the beloved daughter of Macelene Evelyn Beaty and Francis Dale Beaty, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Dale Beaty, along with other cherished family members. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ken Bridges, and by her family who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Karen was the loving mother of Brian Bridges (Tina), Derek Bridges (Carmen), and Eric Bridges (Amber). She felt endlessly blessed to be “Nani” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her grandchildren — Katelyn Roberts (Will), Emily Mannino (Nolan), Autumn Harmon (Parker), Madeline Hattingh (Tibyan), Macie Bridges, Brynn Bridges, and Ava Bridges — were the lights of her life. Karen delighted in watching her family grow. Her great-grandchildren — Emersyn Hattingh, Carson Mannino, and Violet Roberts — brought her tremendous joy in her later years.
Karen took special pride in her role as a teacher for Mother’s Day Out, where she genuinely enjoyed working with the children. Her warmth and dedication made a lasting impact on the lives of many young ones, and she cherished the joy and energy they brought into her life.
Karen was saved as a young girl at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life. She was also known for her exceptional culinary skills, often bringing the family together with her delicious meals. Her family was her heart, and she poured her love into them generously and without reservation. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
