It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Elizabeth Czappa on January 24, 2025 at the age of 78 in Racine, WI. Born on February 14, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Karen was the cherished daughter of the late John F. Laskowski and Felicia M. Joy-Klingbiel and shared her upbringing and special lifelong bond with her only sibling Linda (Bob) Perich.
Formerly a resident of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Karen recently sold her home and moved back to Racine to be closer to her family. Soon after she was diagnosed with kidney disease. She is now reunited with her devoted spouse Joseph Czappa who for some 18 years shared the joys and challenges of a lifetime together. Their enduring love is a testament to the commitment and bond they shared.
Karen was a loving and nurturing mother to her children, Bill (Patti) Anderson, Todd Anderson, Troy (Julie) Carriveau and John (Debbie) Carriveau. Her grandchildren, Samantha Nelson (Conner), Jacob Anderson and Karley Anderson (Dylan), Kelsey Anderson, Haley Anderson (Kyle) and Max Anderson, Riley Carriveau and Kaley Carriveau, Brandon (Cora) Carriveau and Emily Carriveau (Jay) were the apples of her eye. Three great-grandchildren, Alexis Pilcher, Ellie Carriveau and Lainey Carriveau brought an additional layer of happiness and warmth to Karen's life. She is further survived by nephew Eric Perich (Heather) and reunited with Eric's twin, Michael Perich. Karen is further survived by cousins, other relatives and many friends. The joy she found in the laughter and presence of her family was immeasurable.
A devoted Bucks fan, she cheered for her team with enthusiasm and loyalty, finding joy in the victories and camaraderie with fellow fans. Additionally, Karen enjoyed gardening, home decorating and cooking, especially soups. She always over prepared an abundance of delicious meals where family and guests were expected to take home lots of leftovers to enjoy. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories of her laughter, warmth, and love will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, consider memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. Karen E. Czappa to The American Kidney Foundation (AKF)
