Gerald "Jerry" Czappa, age 73, of Nekoosa, WI died Monday, February 6, 2023 at his residence.
Memorial Services will be held 3:00 PM, Friday February 10, 2023 at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Deacon Mark Quayhackx will officiate, burial will be in the Village of Port Edwards Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday February 10th from 1:00-3:00 PM.
Jerry was born August 15, 1949 in Wisconsin Rapids to Robert and Margaret (Raab) Czappa. He was a graduate of John Edwards High School in Port Edwards and later attended Mid State Technical College. Jerry served in the Wisconsin National Guards from November 1967 to November 1973. He was employed as a machinist and millwright at Nepco and Domtar Paper Companies for 46 years, retiring in September 2013. He married Marilyn Wirtz, that marriage ended in divorce. He married Bonnie Davis, mother of their son Kevin, that marriage later ended in divorce.
Jerry enjoyed spending time with his son Kevin (Robyn) and his two grandsons. He also enjoyed spending time with his step-daughter Christie (Ron) Greiner Jr. and their daughter Kori, son Devin and daughter Shannon and her children Easton and Korvin Featherston. Jerry enjoyed going out for a ride on his Harley Davidson and visiting local casinos, as well as trips to Laughlin, NV. He enjoyed his time at the Czappa Deer Camp with his brothers and their families during each week of gun deer hunting season, awaiting the big buck. Jerry also enjoyed spending time at the Buck Rub Inn with his Uncle John and friends.
Jerry is survived by his son Kevin (Robyn) Czappa and their children Marek and Keaton of Waunakee, WI; step-daughter Christie (Ron) Greiner Jr., and their daughters Kori and Shannon Greiner, great-grandchildren Easton and Korvin Featherston, brother Timothy (Cindy) Czappa of Nekoosa, WI; sister-in-law Shirley Czappa of Mosinee, WI, numerous nieces and nephews: Trisha Nelson, Deanna DeCaluwe, Casie Schauer and Derek Czappa.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Margaret Czappa, brother David Czappa, stillborn sister Maryljean Czappa, grandparents John and Anna Raab and Dennis and Anna Czappa, and grandson Devin Greiner.
A Memorial will be designated in Jerry's name at a later date.
