Mary Hamel Obituary
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa, WI. Burial services will be held following the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Armenia, WI.
Mary was born on August 16, 1938 in Cranmoor, WI to the late William and Evelyn (Leggitt) Worth. She married Louis "Ossie" Hamel on January 26, 1957 in Nekoosa, WI. Mary was a homemaker throughout her life. In her spare time, Mary was active with the Wisconsin Rapids VFW Post #2534 Women's Auxiliary. She also enjoyed flower gardening and crocheting.
Mary is survived by six children, Betty Lou Liaromatis, Cynthia (Allan) Bilbao, Wanda Hamel (Ron Elliot), Vallerie (Larry) McGill, Louis (Michelle) Hamel, and Evelyn Arendt; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, William Worth, and Charles (Carole) Worth; and sister-in-law Betty Worth.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Hamel; parents, William and Evelyn Worth; son, Robert Hamel; grandson, Jason Winters; in-laws, Louis and Camille Hamel; brother, Roger Worth; sister, Betty Lou Worth; and sister-in-law Bobbi Worth.
