Karen Dodd (nee Riisness) age 78 of Noblesville, IN passed away from complications due to Parkinson's disease on May 12, 2025.
Born on April 20, 1947 in Schenectady, New York, Karen was raised in Willoughby, Ohio with her three sisters. After graduating from the Andrews School in 1966, she continued her education at Baldwin-Wallace College and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Education in 1969.
Karen found much joy in her family, faith and friends. A lifelong lover of music, Karen spent many years singing in church choirs and performing with her singing group, the Folk Medleys. She enjoyed traveling the country and visiting with extended family each summer at Ferguson Camp on Elfin Lake in Wallingford, Vermont.
She was preceded in death by her father Eric Riisness and mother Catherine Riisness (nee Ferguson). She is survived by her husband Eric, children Brittany, Ashley (John), Lisa (Chad), Eric Jr., Denny (Sommer) and Jason (Andrea) as well as nine loving grandchildren, her sisters Anne (Dan), Margaret (Brian), Jane, and many nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on May 24, 2025 at Prairie Lakes Health Campus, 9730 Prairie Lakes Blvd E Noblesville, IN 46060, as well as this summer in Vermont.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Karen's name to the Parkinson's Foundation.
