It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Karen A. (Krull) Giles, who left us peacefully on December 10, 2024, at the age of 60. Karen was born in De Pere, Wisconsin to the late Harold and Jeanne (De Moulin) Krull and graduated West De Pere High School in 1982. Those who knew her described her as one of the most remarkable people to ever grace this world- a champion of the underdog, a fierce defender of the vulnerable, and a person of unwavering honesty and hard work. She was unforgettable in every sense: a loyal and loving friend, a devoted wife, and the most cherished grandmother. She was one of a kind, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Karen was dedicated to her family, and her love for her husband, Steve, was unwavering throughout their years together. Their partnership was a shining example of enduring commitment. She adored her beloved daughter, whose bond with her mother was a source of strength and inspiration. Above all, Karen cherished and adored her grandchildren, taking immense joy in watching and supporting them to grow and thrive.
She and her husband shared a love for travel, with memorable trips to Las Vegas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and many journeys across the U.S. to visit their daughter, whose husband served in the military. In her downtime, she found joy in tending to her garden and spending quality moments with her beloved pets-Dexter, Chewy, and Rufus.
Karen was a natural leader who overcame countless challenges in her life. Her resilience and determination were evident in every endeavor, and she was especially known for her work as a union leader. Karen fought tirelessly for the rights and welfare of others, advocating for fairness, justice, and dignity in the workplace. Her efforts have left a lasting legacy where she earned the name "Cobra Strike", and her contributions continue to inspire all who followed in her footsteps.
Karen's legacy is one of boundless love, unwavering strength, and selfless service to others. She leaves behind a profound impact on her husband, daughter, grandchildren, family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
Karen is survived by her loving husband Steve, her daughter Jessica (Andrew) Chavez, stepson Cody (Michelle) Giles, stepdaughter Chelsea (Juan) Vera, grandchildren Max, Kian, Chloe, Adalyn, Desmond, Alison. Karen is further survived by her brother, Jerry (Joyce) Krull; sisters, Nancy (Tayo) Kimps, Dianne (Joe) Bodart, Sue (Randy) Merryfield, and Leanne Krull; sister-in-law, Pamela (Craig) Knaack; numerous friends and family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Jeanne (De Moulin) Krull; mother and father-in-law, Dennis and Darlene (Hackstock) Giles; brother, Jeffrey Allen Krull; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Diane Krull; nieces, Jessica Van Straten and Kaysie Kimps.
