Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harder Funeral Home - Brookfield on Aug. 17, 2022.
Karen A. Gutknecht was called home to heaven on August 16, 2022. Born to the late Edward and Lucille Jost on August 11, 1946, she spent her childhood in Cleveland, WI, but resided most of her life in Milwaukee. She and her husband, Jim Gutknecht, raised their family in a loving and supportive home, where God and family came first. After retiring from Western Products, Karen enjoyed volunteering at church and attending weekly Bible class. She was passionate about her faith, her family and cooking. Throughout her life, Karen spent countless hours cooking and baking for her family and many friends. She lived life with joy that was evident to everyone around her. In every situation, Karen sought out the good and showed kindness to everyone. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Karen s zest for life, warm smile and contagious laughter will be dearly missed.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, James C.; son, Daniel J. (Tiffany); grandson, Nathan B.; nieces, Debra (Ted) Wehrman, Dawn (David) Duellman-Arndt, Pamela (Jeff) Klotz and Kim (Ed) Hurtz, many great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Scott J., sister Doris Duellman and brothers, Richard and James Jost.
Funeral Services will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, 6840 N. 107th St., Milwaukee on Monday, August 22 at 6:00 PM. Visitation at the Church for family and friends from 4:00 PM until time of service. Private committal at Pinelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church.
