She was born on March 25, 1963 at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie.
Karen attended both Harborcreek and Iroquis School Districts and graduated from Iroquis High School in 1981. Following graduation, she began working at the Barber National Institute where she worked for the majority of her life. During her time she made numerous friends who loved her deeply and was awarded the Barber National Institute Employee of the year for Erie County.
She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Italiani and her two sisters, Susan Way and Mary Ann Kuhn.
Karen leaves behind her loving family including her mother, Betty Lou (Smulik) Italiani; brother, Frank Italiani; brother in law, Donald Way Jr. as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen's name may be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 E 10th St, Erie, PA 16511 or to the Erie Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Rd, Erie, PA 16506.
Friends may call on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service starting at 1:00 p.m. at Edder Family Funeral Home LLC., 309 Main Street E, Girard PA 16417. Entombment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery following services.
