Karen Kay Young Lunsford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Kay Young Lunsford, age 55, a beloved mother and friend, who left this world on December 4, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Karen was born on August 10, 1970, in Kingsport. She worked alongside her father for many years at Tri-State Analytical Laboratory in Johnson City, until the business closed upon his retirement. A lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities, Karen was a proud 1988 graduate of Sullivan South High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kendred Allen Young and Nelda Faye Shearin Young; her paternal grandparents, Leroy and Lelia Young; and her maternal grandparents, H.J. and Mary Helen Shearin.
Karen is survived by her husband, Keith Lunsford; her beloved son, Nolan; her sister, Teresa Hampton; several nieces and nephews; cousins, and many cherished friends whom she loved as family.
Karen's beautiful smile, generous spirit, and loving heart touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
