Karen Lee Kirby, born on April 6, 1942, in Kerens, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, in Moundsville, West Virginia, at the age of 83.

Karen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. She was an avid reader who found joy in the pages of countless books and cherished her daily ritual of watching "Days of Our Lives." Her hands were rarely still, as she loved crocheting beautiful pieces for her family and friends. Karen also enjoyed working on puzzles, finding satisfaction in fitting each piece into its rightful place. Her beloved cats, Precious and Mr. Purrsalot, were constant companions who brought her much comfort and joy.

A woman of faith, Karen was a member of Temple Baptist Church, where she found community and spiritual nourishment. Her gentle spirit and unwavering faith were a testament to her character and values.

Karen is preceded in death by her husband, James H. Kirby; her son, Paul Sadoski; her stepson, Jeffery D. Kirby; her sister, Barbara Grover; and her brothers, Kenneth Shields, Jack Shields, Allen Shields, Bill Shields, and Richard Shields.

She is survived by her loving son, Jay Sadoski; her devoted daughter, Sandra (Dan) Knox; her cherished grandsons, Hunter and Tyler Sadoski; her stepson, James H. Kirby II.; her stepdaughter, Beth (Rox) Simmons; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Her family and friends will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Services to honor Karen's life will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd, at CARE Moundsville Chapel. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a funeral service at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Valley Brook Memorial Garden.

Karen Lee Kirby will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will endure in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
