Karen Knox Obituary

Karen Lamb Knox, 72, of Cleveland, NC passed away Friday, February 2, 2024 at her home after a 20 year battle with cancer.

Born January 21, 1952 in Roseboro, NC she was the daughter of the late Charles Flowers Lamb and Betty Parsons Lamb.

Karen graduated from West Rowan High School in 1970 and received a degree in Early Childhood Education from Appalachian State University in 1974. She taught school for 14 years at Mt Ulla Elementary school while raising four children. She transitioned from teaching to becoming a business owner with her husband for 25 years. She was a woman of great faith and exhibited this in all aspects of her life. She lived on the historical Knox family farm for her married life and was an integral part of the operation of the farm. She enjoyed the simple things of life and especially cherished time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church and previously a member of Third Creek Presbyterian Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Robert H. Knox, III.; Children: Ruth Knox Newell (Trent) of Mooresville, NC, Daniel Luke Knox (Meredith) of Cleveland, NC, Mary Beth Knox Stutts (Patrick) of Mooresville, NC and Jacob Lamb Knox (Jordan) of Cleveland, NC; siblings, Phyllis L. Goodman (Robert) of Salisbury, NC, Gail L. Moore (Terry) of Cleveland, NC and Charles Lamb, Jr. (Amy) of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren, Trenton, Emma and Daniel Newell, Eli Knox, Howard and Wylie Stutts, Evie, Samuel and Millie Kate Knox.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 5-7PM at Summersett Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be Saturday at 2PM at Cleveland First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Jackson, Pastor Kestler Ruth and Pastor Keith Mason officiating. The family will greet friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.

Memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 301 S. Main St., Suite 105, Salisbury, NC 28144.

I'm so sorry to hear about Karen's passing. She was one of the sweetest, most genuinely nice and truly Christian ladies I have ever known. Karen meant a lot to my Momma and I know they hugged when she joined her in Heaven. Karen will be truly missed.
