Karen Lakawan Lacy, age 56, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her father, Allen R. Lacy Jr.; her mother, Dorothea Hunt-Lacy; her sisters, Brender "Darlene" Lacy and Deborah Lacy; her brother, Allen Lacy III; her aunt, Brenda Cotton; and her uncle, Alvin Lacy. Though their absence is deeply felt, Karen's memory and spirit continue to live on through those who survive her.
She leaves behind her siblings, Cheryl (Tony) Woods, Angela (Michael) Esaw, and Calvin (Rosalyn) Lacy; her children, Antawaun Lacy, Kiera Heath, Curtis Heath, Kanisha, and Chris Hayes; and her extended children, Chelenthia and Leandrew (Autumn) Hayes. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Ryleigh Odom, Riyanne Dawson, Mylee Heath, Jaxson Booker-Heath, Phoenix Odom, Phor Odom, and Ava Gillenwaters. She will also be dearly missed by her aunt Glenda Cotton, uncle George Cotton, her lifelong friends /Sisters Angela Bell, Barbara Lillard, Michelle Lillard, Kim Mcbee, and Kim Watkins, Lucille Newell, Donna Starks, Stephanie Griffin, Barbara Whitsett, Carla Cox, Evelyn Bell, Karen Woodard, and her devoted friend, Antivius Crowder Sr. Also, a host of additional friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Karen's life was one of faith, love, and resilience. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Karen, please visit our Tree Store.
