Karen (De Young) Lorenski, age 73, of Comstock Park, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026. She was born December 28, 1952, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Kenneth and Doris (Leyen) De Young. Karen graduated from Union High School with the class of 1971 before going on to earn an associate degree in nursing from Grand Rapids Junior College. She worked many years as an LPN at St. Mary’s and Metropolitan Hospitals and for Priority Health. Karen married Daniel James Lorenski on October 7, 1983.

Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, Dan Lorenski; daughters, Jennifer Milligan and Tracy (Mirko) Polyak; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary De Young; brothers, John (Nancy) De Young and David (Emily) De Young; and multiple nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 12:30pm until 1:15pm, at Beuschel Funeral Home, 5018 Alpine Avenue NW, Comstock Park, MI, with the funeral service beginning at 1:15pm. Karen will be laid to rest at Rosedale Memorial Park in Walker, MI.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Corsocare Hospice and StoryPoint in Rockford for their help, care, and compassion throughout this difficult journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association Greater Michigan Chapter West Michigan Office in honor of Karen.
