Karen Mahaffey (nee Mallory)
November 21, 1941 - November 12, 2025

Karen, known as "Nana", passed away surrounded by family early on the morning of November 12, 2025 following a brave 9 month battle with a relentless neurodegenerative disease. Karen was born on November 21, 1941 in Two Harbors, MN where she was raised and where she met her beloved husband, Jack who was stationed at the Air Force base in Finland, MN. They were blessed with 56 years together before his passing in 2016. Karen loved to knit, read, garden, and spend time with her beloved fur-baby Lucy, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Jack; daughter, Beth Vadnais; grandson, Branden Vadnais; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

She is survived by daughter, Cathie (Rick) Wamsley; son, Tom (Michelle) Mahaffey; fur-baby, Lucy; sisters, Dale Waldron, Ruth (Rick) Whitcomb; grandchildren, Nic (Mike) Zager, Drew (Christine) Mahaffey, DJ (Becca) Vadnais, Mandy (Josh) Overby, Jessica Morgan; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Brekkyn, Paxton, Kelly, Sophie, Katelyn, Aubree, Augin, Camerin, Courtnee, Chloe, Claire, Lylia, Kylian, Brayden, Hailey, Oriana, John, Jack, Angel, Caleb, Sean, Adrianna, Bentley, Nicolas, Ava, Xander; great-great grandchildren, Jiovanni, Noelle, Estelle; many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to family.

Visitation 11:00 AM-1:00 PM

Service at 1:00 PM

Reception will be held after the service.
