Denise was born at Edwards Clinic in Toluca, NC on May 31, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Lathue N. Mitchem and Nancy Williams Mitchem. She attended West Lincoln High School and Pfeiffer University, Misenheimer, NC.
Survivors include her sister Donita M. Rhoney (Larry) of Vale, two nieces Olivia R. Skinner (Derek) of Monroe and Sara R. Bameycastle (Daniel) of Mooresville, NC. Beloved aunt to Rachel and Samuel Skinner and Cecilia Barneycastle. Denise is also survived by her longtime companion Ralph Elmore, Jr. of Crouse, NC.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Hebron Church, 7929 W Highway 27, Vale, NC 28168.
