Karen Schultz Mosby, 73, of
Canton, Mississippi, passed away on December 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a life marked by deep devotion to Jesus, quiet strength, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
Karen was born on December 29, 1951, in
Meridian, Mississippi. She was a proud graduate of Canton High School, Class of 1969, and later earned her degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi in 1972, where she was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority and was honored as an SAE Sweetheart.
Her love for music and ministry was deeply rooted in her childhood. Karen grew up in a home rooted in faith as the daughter of a Methodist preacher, where her love for worship and service was first formed. While still in high school, she played the organ at First Methodist Church in Canton, and later the piano at Grace Episcopal Church in Canton.
Early in her life, Karen shared her gifts through teaching, shaping young hearts in the classroom before God led her into new seasons of service. She taught kindergarten at First Presbyterian Church and First Baptist Church, and later first grade at Canton Academy, leaving a lasting impact through her kindness, dedication, and love for each child she taught.
In addition to teaching, Karen faithfully served her community by operating Mosby's Gift Shop for many years, where she was known for her gracious presence and welcoming spirit. She also had a special gift for creating beauty in the everyday. With her eye for detail and love for antiques, Karen transformed the Mosby Home into a true home-one that reflected her warmth, elegance, and deep love for her family.
Karen was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Madison, Mississippi, and was known above all as a loving mother, a strong Christian, and a deeply cherished grandmother. Her faith in Jesus guided every season of her life, and her legacy of love, grace, and faith lives on through her family.
She shared 53 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Bill Mosby, a beautiful example of lifelong love and faithfulness.
Karen is survived by her husband, Bill Mosby; her sons, Will Mosby and his wife Laurie Mosby, and Noble Mosby and his wife Christi Mosby; her grandchildren, John Mosby, Sara Grace Mosby, and David Miller Mosby; her brother, David Schultz (Mary Jane); her sister, Angie Hammond (Lee Bell); and her brother-in-law, Clifford Mosby, and his wife Dana Mosby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Miller Schultz and Mary Emma Stokes of Lucedale, MS.
