Karen Nuber Obituary
Karen Zech Nuber, age 70, of Millcreek Twp., passed away at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Erie on December 22, 1954, the daughter of the late Robert E. and Joan McCullough Zech.
Karen was a 1972 graduate of McDowell H.S. and attended Bryant Stratton Institute in Buffalo, NY.
She was employed at ABF Freight Transportation for 31 years until her retirement. Karen was a member of Fitness U, where she enjoyed her water aerobics class. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and shopping.
She is survived by her beloved husband Gary Nuber, her children; Kurt Nuber (Mindy), Erica Kraus (Eric), one brother Erich Zech (Pam), one sister-in-law Donna Bailey (Bob), one brother-in-law Ken Nuber, four grandchildren; Hayden Nuber, Konnor Kraus, Danika Kraus, and Dylan Nuber, her nieces; Kristyn Ross, Katy Uhlman, Kim Gustafson, and one nephew Chris Bailey.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Diane Nuber. The family would like to give a special thanks to the UPMC Cancer Ctr. and their Hospice.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 5 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Road, Erie, PA 16506 or to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511.
