John Louis Nuber, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Cumming, Georgia on Friday November 1st of 2024, at the age of 89, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on June 8th, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, to Frank Nuber and Mary Blasius Nuber, John lived a full life as a resident of Michigan, Kansas, Iowa, and Georgia. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War as a Military Policeman; we thank him and all veterans for their service to our country. John proudly worked for Amoco Oil Company for 35 years and remained active in their retirement club. John also served his church, Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, Georgia. John is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 68 years Lucille, and their children Diane, Susan, John, and Raymond, their spouses, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. John is predeceased by his grandson Kevin G. Austin II, his sister Theresa VanGorder, and his brother Frank Nuber. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7th at McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Dr, Cumming, Georgia 30040, between 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M., and Funeral Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3740 Holtzclaw Rd, Cumming, Georgia, on Friday November 8th beginning at 11:00 A.M., followed by a reception. John will be interned at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. The family wants to thank Lorrie, Natalya, Melissa, and Claudine for being his caregivers; you truly made a difference in his life these last few months. The family requests you consider a contribution in honor of John to The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (ssvpusa.org).
