Karen J. Osher, age 58, of Round Lake Beach, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
She was born December 26, 1953 in Cambridge, Ohio to James and Ruth (Sherrard) Gibson. On December 7, 1979 she married Mark Osher in Corpus Christi, TX.
Karen was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, retiring with the rank of Chief Yeoman. In her years with the Navy she traveled the globe and was stationed in Korea, Texas, Virginia and Cuba.
Since 1995 she had been employed by the State of Illinois for the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. A loving wife, mother, and sister, Karen enjoyed being a doting grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Mark; two children, Stephanie Osher and Eric (Elisha Weldon) Osher; three grandchildren, Sapphire, Peyton, Wyatt; and three sisters, Virginia Freeman, Mary Lou Welker and Ruth Hiles.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Paul Gibson.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 W. North Rosedale Court, (at Cedar Lake Road), Round Lake, IL 60073.
The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.
