Karen Marie Richardson, born on a chilly December morning in 1962 in Allentown, PA, and known for her warm heart and infectious laugh, took her final curtain call on September 8, 2024, in Morgantown, WV.
Karen, a woman who could out-talk anyone, even during a soap opera cliffhanger, shared her love and laughter as a devoted mother, a cherished friend, and the unofficial queen of coffee chats.
She is celebrated by a vivacious family: her daughter Candice, son Charlie, and a squad of grandchildren, Aubrey, Eleanor, Titus, Hank, and Colton, who were her most adored audience. Karen's sidekick in every comedic escapade, Angela Snyder, will deeply miss her best friend's perfectly timed punchlines.
Karen's life was a masterclass in joy; she didn't just juggle the roles of mother and friend, she made it look like an art form worthy of a standing ovation. Her legacy is one of laughter, love, and the kind of storytelling that could make even the dullest day feel like a prime-time special.
A celebration of her life will be held with family members in Texas at a later date. At the request of the family, Karen will be cremated.
Smith Funeral & Cremation Care and SFCC Crematory of Westover / Morgantown, (304) 292-9494, is providing compassionate professional services to the family.

There are too many memories and I´m thankful for them all. I´ve know Karen all my life. When we were little people thought we were twins just 2 years apart. I will miss her loving heart, all the childhood fights that she let me win I talked to her a bunch of times and I talked her to sleep she let me carry on, sometimes I don´t talk a lot but with her I was a motormouth. lol I love her giggle it was so authentic when she lived in Texas for a year I would pick her up most Sundays and take her to eat and I would try to make her laugh just to hear her giggle. I love her so much. She is forever in our hearts I love you Karen and I wish I had more time with you to grow old together.
