Age 81, of Piffard, NY, passed away in June 2024.
She was born in Portland, OR in December 1942, daughter of Clark and Doris Kniss.
In her 30s she moved to New York. She was known for her exceptional work ethic and dedication to The Barn Restaurant. This was more than a workplace, her co-workers were family and made it a second home. She will fondly be remembered for her delicious soup recipes. Beyond her work life, she had a deep love for her two dogs, Muffin & B.J., who were cherished members of her family that brought comfort and joy to her life.
She is survived by her children, Donald R. Sanford, Daniel C. Sanford, Tammy M. Irons; grandchildren, Mariah Irons, Kristina Sanford, Aaron Sanford; great grandchildren, Sofia Paz-Vasquez, Josiah Rangel; brother, Thomas Kniss.
