Karen S (Showalter) Secrest, 76, of New Brighton, PA (formerly of West Aliquippa, PA), passed away unexpectedly in her home on November 14, 2025.
Born on May 15, 1949, in New Martinsville, WV, she was the eldest daughter of the late Harry O. Showalter and the late Roxanne P. (Burge) Showalter- Stewart.
Karen, also known by her family as Susie, worked many different jobs throughout her lifetime, including her brief time as a librarian assistant at the B.F. Jones Memorial Library in Aliquippa, PA, which she really enjoyed since she was an avid reader of many types of books. Her interests also included researching our family genealogy, a love for cats, listening to various music, and was a huge fan of British comedy shows & anything relating to the Royal family.
Karen is survived by her eldest daughter, Amy Secrest, and her son and daughter-in -law, Russell Jr & Quinn Secrest. She was a cherished grandmother to her grandson Mason Moldovan, and to her granddaughters Kayla Corak, and Emily & Aubrey McCullough. She is also survived by her brother, Harry (Tina) Showalter and her sisters, Deborah (Showalter) Rance & Victoria Showalter, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her youngest sister, Brenda L. (Showalter) Fitzgerald, on June 6, 2021, her youngest daughter, Sherry A Secrest, on May 21, 2025, and her former husband, Russell R Secrest, Sr, on October 22, 2001.
There will be no funeral services as per her request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the link on this page.
