Karen S. Vansell, 70, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. She was born August 10, 1952, in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late Michael and Farolyn (Simpson) Lenz.
Karen lived a wonderful life enjoying time with her family, watching the Chiefs, shopping, playing bunco, working in the garden. She also loved to eat ice cream and of course peanut butter. Even though Alzheimer’s took its toll on her final days she always remained surrounded by the love from her family and closest friends.
She is survived by her son Jerry (Jaree) Vansell Jr., daughter Kristal (Morris) Wilson, grandchildren Bella, Sophia, and Hayden; her brother Mark (Cheryl) Lenz and her niece Christine and nephew Michael.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home 801 NW 108th street (Shoal Creek Parkway). Interment will follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. If you so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s association ALZ.org.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Mom, I miss you so very much. Life is not the same without you here. I´m glad you are no longer suffering and you are up in heaven with your parents but I wish you were still here with me. RIP sweet momma. Love you always and forever.

Karen was one of the sweetest people I knew at school. So bubbly and kind-I´m truly sorry for your loss. Heaven´s gate opened wide to welcome her.

I worked with Karen at Hub State Bank back in the 80's. She was always fun to be around and always had a smile on her face. She will be missed.
