Martha L. Ruffier, born on December 29, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025. A cherished mother, grandmother, and devoted wife, Martha's life was characterized by the unwavering love she poured into her family and the joyful traditions she created with them.

Marty graduated from high school in Wellsville in 1959, marking the beginning of a life dedicated to family and service. After nurturing her children with affection and care, she joined the workforce, first serving as a receptionist for Hardest Kitchen, and later dedicating many years to Ever Ready Pest Control. Her commitment and diligence in her career were a testament to her strong work ethic and resilience.

Marty enjoyed a fulfilling marriage with her beloved husband, Joe, for an incredible 62 years. Their marriage was a celebration of love and laughter, and they treasured every moment spent together. Throughout her life, Marty created beautiful memories and traditions during holidays, weaving a tapestry of love that her children and grandchildren will forever hold dear.

Marty was a woman of unwavering faith, she placed her devotion and trust in her Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Beyond her role as a caregiver and professional, Marty had hobbies that brought her joy. She found peace in fishing and tended to her garden with great care, growing an array of vegetables and nurturing vibrant flower gardens filled with sunflowers. Her passion for gardening not only provided sustenance but also added beauty to her life and the lives of those around her.

Marty was deeply loved by her family. Her nurturing spirit and dedication to her loved ones were evident in everything she did. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and cherished memories that will continue to flourish in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.

Martha L. Ruffier will be remembered for her loving nature, hard work, and the joy she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will remain a guiding light for her family, reminding them of the love that binds them together.

Marty is preceded in death by her parents, Rolland and Amy Ferris; her daughter, Kelly J. Edmunds; brothers, Junior Ferris (Shirley), Dale P. Ferris; and her sisters, Dorothy A. Evans, and Phyllis Ferris.

She is survived by, her loving husband, Delbert “Joe” Ruffier; her sons, Joe Ruffier, and Paul Ruffier; her siblings, Jim Ferris (Linda), Bill Ferris (Carol), Marion Ferris (Monica), Robert Ferris (Sandy), David Ferris (Tara), Kay Ferris (fiancé, Johnnie Cook); her sister-in-law Carolyn Hodges; grandchildren, Megan, P.J., Amy, Bubba, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Liam and Novah; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Martha will be missed by her family and all who had the honor of knowing her. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
