An indomitable spirit, Karen was cherished and will be missed by a large family of friends. Born in Brighton, UK, Karen traveled the globe before settling in Chapel Hill. A practicing kinesiologist during her time in London, Karen earned a Certificate in Professional Integrative Health Coaching from Duke University Integrative Medicine. Karen loved to dance and was part of numerous dance groups in the UK and the Triangle.
She is survived by her son, William Nery, her mother and stepfather, Chris and Tim Clark, and her feline companion, Luna. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Wolstenholme, her sister, Sara Wolstenholme, and her beloved grandmother, Dorothy Wright.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 6 at Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Durham.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Karen's memory to ACLU of North Carolina.
