Karen M. (Kesler) Woods-Cox, 87, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2023, at Kingston Residence of Sylvania, Ohio. Karen was the daughter of Frank M. Kesler and Norma (Billings) Kesler. She was a proud graduate of Scott High School and enjoyed many reunions maintaining lifelong friendships with her circle of friends.
She attended the University of Toledo where she met William A. Woods. They married and raised their family before returning to work for the Sylvania School District and later University of Toledo Carlsson Library and Placement office before retiring.
She was predeceased by her first husband, William A. "Bill" Woods; son, David W. Woods; husband; William "Bill" Cox. She married "Bill" Cox in 1989 on St. Patrick's Day. Karen and Bill enjoyed many years together and loved to travel to Ft. Myers Beach, FL as "snowbirds". They also enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Lori (Murray) Gordon; daughter-in-law, Andrea Woods; sister-in-law, Sandra Woods Curtis; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; step children, Tom (Brenda) Cox, Kim (John) Hewett, Bruce (Dawn) Cox; 8 step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy. She loved being involved in their lives. Her passions were cooking, gardening, hostessing events, travel, family, and friends.
Karen's funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church, 4225 W Sylvania Ave., Toledo, OH. Interment is private. Memorial contributions in Karen's name may be made out to Christ Presbyterian Church in her memory. To send condolences, please visit walkerfuneralhomes.com.
