Karin Carter-Binegar, a beloved soul who graced this earth with her presence, has peacefully passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on July 9, 1951, in Indianapolis. Karin was married to Glenn “Don” Binegar Jr. one beautiful day in September. The two have known each other their whole lives and were blessed with a chance to spend their lives together as husband and wife.

Karin's journey on this earth was characterized by her unwavering dedication to education and her profound love for nurturing young minds. She worked 50 plus years in Christian early childhood development. For 50 plus years everyday she worked, there was a smile on her face and had joy in her heart because she was able to teach little children about Jesus. She pursued her passion for teaching by dedicating many years to enriching the lives of students and serving as the Assistant Director of Westside Christian Preschool. Her impact on the countless children she encountered throughout her career will forever be cherished and remembered.

Karin’s faith for the lord started at a very young age. She had such a burning desire to learn about Jesus, at only 8 years old she walked alone to church in Fountain Square. It was a dream of Karin’s to play the organ in a church. She taught herself to read music then went on to fulfill her dream and play the organ beautifully for her church.

She loved her fur babies Suzzie Q, Scruffy, Maggie Mae and Bella Boo. Her idea of perfect treat was cake and ice cream followed with a Diet coke. Karin was not really into cooking but enjoyed a nice meal out.

Karin's heartfelt commitment to her students extended beyond the classroom as she opened her heart and shared her knowledge with countless youngsters. Her talents were not limited to teaching; she was also a skilled musician and a captivating singer, illuminating the world with her beautiful melodies.

Described as a very loving person, Karin's warmth touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her devotion as a mother and wife reflected the depth of her kindness and compassion towards her family.

Karin is survived by her ever-caring husband Glenn "Don" Binegar Jr.; her sisters Cindy Poehler-Levi, Jeannette (Greg), Denise (Chris), and Doreen (Mark). Her beautiful children, Lisa (Billy) Burgess, and John Greathouse, Dana, Ashley, and Danielle (Clint); Grandchildren Brittany, Lauren, Madison, Jessica (Spencer), Ryan, Brynleigh, Brookyln, Kaleigh and Kaiden; Great Grandchildren Annaliese, Kenedi, and Dean.

Karin was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Virginia Poehler; her brother Art Poehler; sisters Marcia and Pam.

In honoring the life of Karin Carter-Binegar, a visitation will be held on August 15, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Washington Park East in Indianapolis. This is an opportunity for family and friends to come together, celebrate her life, and find solace in each other's company.

Karin left us a legacy- It is one on how to follow a roadmap to being a faithful, strong and proud Christian and it is a legacy we should all strive to follow.

As we bid farewell to Karin, let us carry forward the light of her love, the melody of her songs, and the wisdom she imparted, ensuring that her spirit lives on in all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Karin's unwavering faith and love will remain eternally in our hearts, guiding us through the path of life with grace and compassion.
