Karin Faye Ericson, 76 of Salt Lake City passed away at University Hospital June 20, 2025 of complications from a stroke.
Karin Todd was born November 9, 1948 in Los Angeles, CA to James and Evelyn Todd. She grew up in Southern California graduating from Thousand Oaks High School in 1966. Karin started her nursing training and career with a Catholic Convent nursing order serving for five years. After leaving the order, Karin followed her pursuit of serving God and loving Jesus. This led to moving with a Christian Church to Salt Lake City where she met and married Jon Ericson in 1979. She was a stay-at-home mom to her three children until returning to nursing school graduating in 1989. Karin worked as a nurse in many settings through the years, hospital, home health, school nurse, and charge nurse in an Alzheimer's wing for ten years before retiring in 2015. Karin loved her children deeply and showed wisdom, love, compassion and empathy to all. Karin especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Nissi, Olivia, and little Iris and she was a lover of Schnauzers. Karin was a gentle, caring person who will be so missed by many. We know she is now safely in the arms of Jesus whom she loved with all her heart.
Karin is survived by Jon, her husband of 46 years; her daughter Abigail (Matt) Don, Mudgee, Australia; Her sons Peter (Emily), Puna, HI; David, Salt Lake City. Her grandchildren Nissi, Olivia, Iris. Her sisters Linda, Marsha, Barbara, Cindy.
Karin was preceded in death by her parents and brother Michael.
We'll cherish and remember her always.
