Karina Herrera
October 22, 1984 – October 11, 2025
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Karina Herrera, a cherished daughter, devoted partner, beloved stepmother, loving sister, cousin, and friend. Karina departed from this world on October 11, 2025, leaving a void in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Karina was a radiant soul, known for her kindness and her remarkable ability to uplift the spirits of others during their darkest moments. Her encouragement and gentle words of wisdom were a source of comfort to many, and her capacity for empathy knew no bounds. A true lover of nature, she found immense joy in the beauty of the ocean and the delicate grace of pretty flowers. Her favorite color, purple, mirrored her vibrant spirit and unique personality.
In addition to her loving nature, Karina had a passion for creating beautiful jewelry, expressing her creativity in tangible forms that brought joy to others. Her artistry was not only a reflection of her talent but also of her generous heart, as she often gifted her creations to those she cared for.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juvenal Herrera Jr. and Minerva Valdez; and her stepmom, Lilia Lopez.
Left to cherish her memory are her life partner of six years, Jesse Jarret Moreno; daughter, Audrey Rose Moreno; brother, Juvenal (Norma) Herrera III; sister, Ezanette Villarreal; best friend, Anna Laura Davalos; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
