Karla Hermann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grandstrand Funeral Home & Cremation Service - North Branch on May 27, 2025.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Karla Hermann - age 57- beloved sister, aunt, friend, and colleague on May 20, 2025. Karla's strength, dignity, and faith as she lived life with stage 4 ovarian cancer for five years will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her.
Born and raised in North Branch, MN, she was the third of three daughters, or as her dad liked to say, she was the third of his "Special K's". Karla graduated from North Branch High School and then attended Hamline University where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration. She put her business skills to use working for and eventually leading the family insurance business.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Karla was a person of deep faith and spirituality who drew peace and serenity from the simple pleasures of sipping coffee outdoors, watching the sights and listening to the sounds. She was an observer of people - she enjoyed deep conversations and seeking to understand what makes people tick. Karla also loved to laugh and was often known to deliver a quick one liner with a perfectly straight face.
Karla is welcomed into her heavenly home by her parents, Dave and Elaine, and her most beloved German shepherd, Buffy.
She is survived by and loved by her family: sisters, Kim and Karen, bonus brother, Steve, niece Anna and nephew Danny, and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. She will be deeply missed by her colleagues - her second family!- and many friends.
A Celebration of Karla's life will be held on Friday, June 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church (38460 Lincoln Trail) North Branch, MN 55056. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by service at 11:00 am. Internment will follow the service, after which the family invites friends to share a light lunch at the church.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
