Karla Renee (Shultz) Wolfe, 79, Mexico, Indiana, passed away at 5:58 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at The Waters of Peru.
Born December 16, 1945, in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of Ernest P. and Mauna F. (Piatt) Shultz. On August 27, 1961, at the Mexico Church of the Brethren, she was married to Reginald R. Wolfe, Sr., and he survives.
Karla attended Jefferson Township High School and was a member of the Independent Christian Fellowship Church in Peru. She was a woman of great faith who taught Sunday school for many years and worked with the youth in her church; she was also a professional baby-whisperer who could put any baby to sleep. Karla had a very green thumb and loved working in her flower beds and gardening. She was an excellent cook and loved to relax while watching the birds or taking a ride in the country. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandkids or sitting throughout the day with her husband while he was at work.
Survivors include her husband, Reggie Wolfe, Mexico; four children, Reginald R. (Tammy) Wolfe, Jr., Todd E. (Angie) Wolfe, Erin R. Wolfe (Mike Thomas), Brenn E. (Randy) Dahms; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret “Midge” (Dr. M. Dean) Sixbey, Penny Stapleton; one brother, Tony Shultz; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Chad W. Wolfe, Sr.; four brothers, Edward Shultz, Eldon George Shultz, Donald Shultz, and Marion Shultz; four sisters, Sarah Mikesell, Lois DeFord, Pauline Wahab, and Alma Sease.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Independent Christian Fellowship Church in Peru. Burial will follow in Chili Cemetery, Chili, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 3-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Chili Cemetery Association.
