Katelyn Cushing

Katelyn Michelle (Sylvester) Cushing , 25, of Hinsdale, passed away on August 29, 2018. Born in Virginia Beach, VA., she is the daughter of Edmund Sylvester and Lisa (Bartlett)Deming. She married the love of her life Jake Cushing on August 19, 2018 in Sullivan, NH. Raised and educated in Brattleboro, VT. She is a 2011 graduate from Brattleboro Union High School and attended Greenfield Community College. She was employed at CUSAG and worked for Brattleboro bowl for many years. Katelyn was an avid lover of animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed her time playing softball for the Brattleboro women's softball league, and loved outdoor sports, especially golf and cheering on her husband in baseball. Katelyn loved bowling which is where she met Jake. She was a lover of all books and enjoyed reading. She also loved her time spent being photographed by Auntie Deena. Katelyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Katelyn was preceded in death by her grandparents Stewart Bartlett, Alice and Joseph Sylvester, her aunt Brenda Haskeer, her beloved dog Jasmine and 23 year old cat Troubles. She is survived by her husband Jake Cushing, her father Edmund Sylvester, her mother and step father Lisa and Chuck Deming, stepsister Hannah Scott, Jakes parents Ron and Gail Cushing and Ruth Cushing from Richmond, NH., and her grandmother Margaret Bartlett. A graveside service will be held Friday September 7, 2018 at 2pm at the Monadnock View Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at the American Legion on Court St. Keene, NH from 3-5pm. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a memorial contribution to the Windham or Monadnock Humane Society.
